Top 5 Blogs of 2018:

Chronicles of Experience

I would like to take this opportunity, a week into the new year, to asses and appreciate the year that has passed.  In this brief review of 2018, I would like to highlight the top 5 blogs in terms of value.  These are the blogs I would recommend to anyone moving up in their careers or stepping into or occupying leadership roles.

5- The subtle art of negotiation & Part 2

negotiation blogsNegotiation is the art of getting what.  Now all you have to do is convince the other party that it’s a good deal.

“This is either the highest or lowest you could reasonably expect.  Bear in mind that if the first bid is high, the final bid is likely to be higher than if the first bid was low and vice versa.”

4- Networking: A treasure trove of opportunity

Networking BlogsIt’s about more than making friends.  Networking is about creating connections that can benefit you in any number of ways.

“Networking is the deliberate act of building relationships.  You need to meet new people, have constructive conversations and finally gain from the whole exchange.”

3- Implementation trumps theory.  Every time.

Implimentation BlogsDo none of your plans ever come to full fruition?  Perhaps you should leave the drawing board behind for a moment and focus on the practicalities of reality.

“A mediocre strategy coupled with effective implementation can lead to great success, while an amazing strategy with lacklustre implementation will leave you feeling frustrated with yet another defeat.”

2- You will take criticism and you will like it!

Criticism BlogsNo one will get more critique than the mediator between people and every job entails a bit of that.  It may be best to accept and even learn to appreciate that criticism after a while.

“Learning to take the heat can help you stay in the game longer.  No one can throw you off by hitting you with some hard words.  You have heard it all before and you are sure of yourself and where you stand.”

1- Be a Boss worth working for: Are you a Narcissist?

boss blogsTo be a good leader you have to be aware and constantly working on your flaws.  This series is a great start for just that.

“If you are a narcissist, this may be a bitter pill to swallow, but remember that the world is not divided into black and white, good and evil or treasures and trash.”
